Our specialist engineers have to adhere to some electric car charging point installation regulations. This may impact the location where you want to install the charger at your property. Before installation, we will undertake a site survey or request images of where you want to install the charger. We will be mostly looking for "sim touches", these are metal objects that are linked to your electricity supply. Any potential sim touch needs to be atleast 2.5 metres away from the charger.

If for any reason your EV charger installation does not meet the criteria for a standard installation then we can still undertake the charger installation but at an additional cost. Our team will conduct a site survey and prepare a quote for the additional works. If the additional work is little and fits our specialist's schedule then we can complete on the same day and take payment too. If you do not want to go ahead with the installation, we will issue a full refund for any payment that you may have made.

There are many factors that can affect the time taken to charge an electric vehicle.
Maximum charging rate of vehicle - This means a vehicle's battery can only be charged at the maximum rate that the vehicle can accept. For example, if your car's maximum charge rate is 7kW, you cannot charge faster a 22kw chargepoint.
The Size of the battery - The larger your car's battery capacity (in kWh) the longer it will take to charge.
The State of the battery - If you are charging from empty, it will logically take longer to charge than if you just topping from 40%
Maximum charging rate of chargepoint - The total time taken to charge the vehicle will also be limited due to the max charging rate of the chargepoint you are using. In simpler words, even if your car can charge at 12kW, it will only charge at 7kW on a7kW chargepoint.
Weather - Colder temperatures can result in slightly longer times to charge your car, more so if you are trying to use a rapid charger. With colder temperatures, it means vehicles are less efficient, therefore less miles are accumulated per time charging.
One of the most significant advantages of owning an electric car is that it is less expensive to operate than a gasoline or diesel vehicle, thanks to the battery. But have you ever considered the environmental impact of these batteries?
The production of electric cars emits more pollutants than the production of conventional vehicles. This is due to the usage of a variety of rare earth elements in the battery's manufacturing. These rare earth metals' extraction and manipulation contribute to their greenhouse gas emissions. Despite this, electric cars are still excellent for the environment since as the industry improves and efficiency, emissions will decrease as electric cars become more common.
Furthermore, the EV battery recycling business is rapidly expanding, and the industry is expected to benefit as a result. There is a greater demand for technological advancements in manufacturing procedures as well as the process of collecting and reusing important metals from batteries that have reached the end of their useful lives. Because there is less reliance on mining and the creation of new batteries, the lifetime environmental effect of battery manufacturing is decreased.
There are a few factors to consider before selecting your home electric car charging point.
Power - You can get the 3kW and 7kW chargers, and even 22kW, bit the 7kW is the most common.
Cable - You will need to choose between a tethered charger (cable) or an untethered one (without a cable). Tethered is less hassle whereas with a untethered cable you can pretty much connect to any electric car.
Cost - According the the RAC, the average cost of a EV charger is £800, however Government grants can substantially reduce the amount you pay.
Design of the Charger - You need to get use to seeing the charger on your wall everyday so select something that you like design-wise.
Features - These are various EV chagers out there with amazing features such as compatabiltiy with solar panels etc.
Yes absolutely! The UK Government has an EV Homecharge Scheme (EVHS). This scheme is to aid the EV drivers with up to 75% of the costs of installing a home charger. So if you have purchased an eligible EV or plug-in hybrid vehicle since 1st October 2016, and meet the list of terms below then you're qualified. Terms include:
The installation of an EV charger requires expert knowledge of both your property's electrical system and the charger itself. Without this skill, the installation process could go totally wrong and the safety and performance of your home/workplace charger could be hugely compromised. The charger emits a high level of electricity from your property into your car. So, if the charger is not correctly installed, you, your family, your neighbours or friends have a high chance of being dangerously exposed to this electricity. Therefore, to mitigate the risks of fire or electric shock, its important to choose an experienced, specialist EV charging station installer.
