EV CAR CHARGER INSTALLATION PROCESS IN Barnet

Your specialist installer will confirm the date and arrival time with you well in advance of the installation. Based on your power supply and parking, our installer will assist you in choosing the best position for your charger. Our installer will begin positioning the charger and then fix it by drilling and clipping the cable to the wall. After this the installer will turn off the power supply and install the RCBO and connect it to your main supply. Later the installer will conduct the final safety tests to ensure your home charger is ready to use. Our installer will then give you a full demo of your charger and guide you on what various lights mean and how to get in touch with us if you have any questions later. Lastly, we will need your Wi-Fi details to complete the set-up.

What Is an EV Charging System?

What is EV charging system? In simple terms, it's a way to power electric vehicles by alternating current, which makes it compatible with a variety of power grids. The charging stations that support bidirectional charging allow energy to flow both ways. Because EVs use alternating current to recharge their batteries, they also benefit the local grid by protecting it from peak loads. This feature can also save building owners the trouble of upgrading their energy infrastructure.

Bidirectional EV charging allows energy to flow both ways

In theory, electric cars can reverse the energy flow from the grid to the vehicle. In the near future, bidirectional charging will be available on all ID. models with at least 77 kWh of battery capacity. Volkswagen plans to use special DC BiDi wall boxes for bidirectional charging on future vehicles. Updates to these wall boxes will be available via over-the-air, allowing you to update your vehicle even if it's already been delivered. But how does it work?

First of all, bidirectional charging has the potential to help homeowners achieve energy self-sufficiency. It can be combined with renewable energy power sources, such as solar panels installed on the roof. The excess energy from the solar panels can be stored in the EV. At night, this stored energy can be used for driving. And with a bidirectional charger, this energy can be used multiple times, including when driving.

EVs use alternating current to charge

When charging your EV, you have the choice between using AC power or DC power. AC power is used to charge the battery pack in your car, while DC voltage can be supplied from a wall outlet. AC and DC charging methods use different methods for motors, but the most common is Level 2 charging. DC charging is faster than Level 2, but it requires a large AC-to-DC converter. While Level 2 charging is ideal for home owners, it's not fast enough to charge a full-size EV.

In most cases, EVs use alternating current (AC) to charge their batteries. AC is a faster power source, but it is slow. The speed of AC power is measured in Kilowatts (kW), which translates to volts (V). A car's alternator creates DC power by turning a motor on and off. In turn, this power is sent back into the battery and recharges the battery.

EV charging station in Barnet

What is an EV charging station? Also known as a charge point, this is equipment that supplies electrical power to plug-in electric vehicles. A charging station is a good investment, as it can help reduce the cost of fuel and improve the quality of life of people who own electric vehicles. There are many different types of charging stations on the market, and they all serve different purposes.
